Shadow of the Vampire
Shadow of the Vampire (2000)
The Plot: A filmmaker hires a strange actor to play a vampire but when his strange behavior starts disrupting the filming, they wonder if he is a real vampire.
Shadow of the Vampire features John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe, two of the best actors going and they do not disappoint here. Dafoe particularly is so amazing as Max Schreck aka Nosferatu. Complete with long uncut fingernails that he clicks together disturbingly at various points. The creep factor is really off the charts here.

Malkovich contemplates what to do when a vampire drains the blood of your leading lady |
What is the deal with Schreck's fingernails? I mean as an immortal vampire who has lived for countless years, are you telling me in all that time he has simply abandoned the need to trim his fingernails? I suppose he really has no one to impress. Perhaps they help him catch small mammals such as the bat he snatches out of the air and sucks its blood out of. I can only imagine what his toenails look like. Thankfully he wore shoes throughout the film.

Has anyone seen my nail clippers? |
Shadow of the Vampire is an impressively creepy film with superb acting. I give it 8 grotesquely uncut fingernails.
